Women in the Landscape

15 March 2012

Women in the Landscape

A day of re-invigoration - and lots of laughs!

About 60 women came together for a day of laughter, the odd tear, catch-ups, great food (thanks, Mel and co!), some exercises (up, down, up, down) and plenty of learning at our Women in the Landscape Day on April 28. What a day!

We were really lucky to have a great list of speakers who presented on a wide range of topics - there really was something for everyone!

Speakers included:

  • 2012 NSW RIRDC Rural Women's Award Winner, Danica Leys, who is an agribusiness lawyer, former agronomist from the Central West, and social media expert - having co-founded the hugely popular agricultural Twitter forum, @AgChatOz

  • Mikla Lewis - Founder of WIRES and passionate native flora and fauna expert

  • Phoebe Maroulis – entrepreneurial local businesswomen. Phoebe is passionate about developing opportunities for children to be ‘creative’ and is about to trek the Indian Himalayas in the name of raising funds and awareness about the plight of women and girls in remote third-world regions.

Thank you to everyone who attended to help make the day such a success!
