The Little River Landcare Group Inc.

The Little Landcare Group (LRLG) formed in 1998 as a result of community members identifying that natural resource management needed to be implemented on a catchment scale, rather than in small social clusters. Located in the Little River catchment of the Macquarie River valley in Central Western NSW, the LRLG has grown to become a highly successful Landcare organisation that addresses issues of an environmental, social and economic nature; striving towards a vision ‘to promote a healthy, productive and diverse biological and social environment’. This approach to managing the 290,000ha catchment has resulted in engagement of landholders, land managers, local businesses, community groups, school communities and town residents.
