Campbells River Catchment

Restoration Economics: Unlocking Small-Scale Environmental Planting Potential in NSW

Overview

The Campbells River catchment covers 110,444 ha, encompassing the village of Rockley

Public Land

The public land estate (National Parks and State Forest) represent 15,856 ha or 14% of the catchment area

Carbon Yields

Environmental Plantings (Block Configuration) yields vary across the Catchment from 10.3 – 47.3 ACCUs / ha / yr, averaged over a 25- year crediting period.

Carbon Target Areas

Areas that exceed 10 ACCUs / Ha / yr are proposed as the target carbon areas for the project.
10 ACCUs / Ha / yr equates to a gross margin of approximately $600 / ha which is the point of which carbon yields typically overtake grazing yields.
This assumption will be tested as part of the project.

Target Properties

280 properties containing carbon yielding areas greater than 10 ACCUs / ha / yr exist in the catchment.
These represent the target properties for the project.
