Better Bush for Birds Project

Better Bush for Birds is a four-year initiative (2026–2030) funded by the NSW Environmental Trust. It focuses on restoring critically endangered Box Gum Grassy Woodland across the Central Tablelands and supporting over 30 declining woodland bird species. This project will be delivered in partnership with five Landcare groups, combining on-ground restoration, sustainable land management, and community engagement.

Little River Landcare is inviting expressions of interest from landholders to take part in this exciting habitat restoration project! We’re looking for landholders to plant up to 150 subsidized native trees and shrubs, along with access to a limited number of heavy-duty reusable mesh tree guards. The goal is to establish scattered paddock trees and improve habitat connectivity for native woodland birds along with all the environmental co benefits that come along with improving habitat and biodiversity on your patch.
